    Glitter Bloke Review added: 2018.04.07
I absolutely love reading, and I won't touch e-readers - to me the book is a beautiful physical object and I love everything about them.

I do buy new books, but they can be pricey, and buying secondhand also means that you can find out-of-print gems you won't find in a new bookstore.

Apparently this place has been around for a long time but despite knowing this area, which is the next road up from Chester Road train station and near to Wylde Green shops, I had no idea this delightful place was there until a friend told me about it.

It's in a small mixed-used business area tucked away off Marston Road - you could easily miss it and it's set well back from the gate and is the only shop there. They are open every Saturday 10am - 4pm but you can call them if you want to attend during the week.

It's a charming little place, with a good, eclectic range of titles. The owner and his staff are also very down-to-earth and friendly and they will offer you a no-obliged cup of tea or coffee and you can browse to your hearts content. It's an old building and like a treasue trove, though it is properly organised and seems to be getting a more personal feel, with a sweet little kids section with a mat, chair and cute decorations, and various displays.

They did a nice open day in December where they gave away free mince pies, Stollen bread and hot drinks too, all for free - and they even have a "free books" box!

This is exactly the sort of independent place I didn't realise existed anymore, so I was so glad to find it and happy to support it. We need to support little local businesses like this and I hope it will continue - it's certainly Sutton Coldfield's best-kept secret - if you love books you need to seek this place out!
